WAN über vorhandenes WLAN mit Stick?
Für das Stadtpark Büro haben wir als einzige Anbindung ein offenes WLAN (per LAN komme ich irgendwie an den SIEMENS Router nicht ran). Für den Stadtpark Feldversuch hatten wir als Notlösung einen WRT54GL im Clientmode dazwischen. Das sieht aber nicht sehr elegant aus und ist auch letztendlich ein Investment in 2 Router.
Der wr842 hat ja hinten einen USB Port. Wie wäre es wenn man dort so eine Logilink oder Edimax "Warze" reinsteckt (Realtek Chipsatz) und diesen als WAN Interface nutzt? Ich habe hier eine Anleitung gefunden, wie man es mit einem UMTS Stick hinbekommt. Kann man das ähnlich mit einem WLAN Stick machen?

ich muss mal noch die Packagesourcen fixen, damit man auch die kernel pakete nachinstallieren kann, aber ansonsten geht das echt einfach, hab ich am Wochenende erst gemacht:
WLAN Scan -> bei einem Wlan auf join drücken, Einstellungen so lassen (wwan) und es läuft. (An diesem Iterface muss man dann noch das halle-dhcp eingestellt werden, damit openvpn richtig startet)

WAS ECHT? Mit sonem Stick hinten dran? Ich war schon am Ende des Internet und habe nichts darüber gefunden. Nur Diskussionen, wie doof es ist, dass mit dem eingebauten Chip zu machen und das man lieber einen 2. AP nutzen sollte

Jaein, habe es mit dem integrierten AP gemacht, aber vom vorgehen her das gleiche.
Wenn du unter Admin -> System -> Paketverwaltung -> Konfiguration gehst, dann stehen da einige src Zeilen, bei einer steht am Ende /base dies muss entfernt werden, dann kann man auch pakete nachinstallieren. (Wenn man die Paketlisten aktualisiert hat)
Dann musst du nur noch den passenden kmod treiber für dein exteres WLAN Gerät finden.

Hier hat schonmal wer sowas gebaut, allerdings mit Atheros chipsatz Stick. Ich habe nur diese Realtek rumliegen, bräuchte also einen rtlXXXX treiber (welchen genau muß ich nachschauen)

Wenn das so irgendwie klappen würde, wäre das genial. Der Ansatz mit dem UMTS Stick gefiel mir aber besser. Der hat nur das WAN Interface quasi umgelabelt auf den Stick.

Also das mit dem /base entfernen zeigt keinen Effekt. Auch das auskommentieren der ganzen Zeile nicht. Es kommt bei allen Listen 401. Scheinbar gibt es das Verzeichnis ar71xx-r45287 gar nicht. S. Screenshoot.

Läuft bei mir
Gelöscht wegen Blödsinn, das war der Treiber vom LAN auf Raspi. WLAN ist realtek, Treiber gefunden, Interface radio1 wurde angelegt. Nur leider zerschießt es mir das restliche WLAN beim Stecken.

Also irgendwie macht der Stick beim reinstecken das andere WLAN kaputt - man kommt nicht mehr drauf und er ist auch von anderen nicht mehr erreichbar. Über Kabel gibt es nur sehr zähflüssig zugriff. Folgendes wird in der /config/network angelegt (ganz unten). Welchen Mode muß ich für den Stick wählen? Meines erachtens 'sta', was für Clientmode steht?! Welchem Netzwerk füge ich das interface zu? Meines erachtens 'WAN'? Es hat sich bei 'LAN' angegliedert

Einen habe ich noch, wenn der Stick steckt bootet der Router nicht.
Edit: Ich habe einen baugleichen anderen Stick probiert, bootet auch nicht. Man muß den Stick nach dem booten anstecken. Spätestens beim Scan friert der Router ein

Was ist das für ein Stick, kannst du mal das Modell posten?
Hast du in der Datei auch manuell herumgeschrieben oder alles luci machen lassen? (uci kommt manchmal mit den einrückungen nicht zurecht.) Da steht als Network lan da, da du den als wan betreiben wolltest, kann da schon mal was nicht stimmen?
Zum booten kann ich nichts sagen, das ist schon komisch, ich hab leider keinen wlan usb stick, sonst hätte ich es mal nachgestellt.

Der Stick wird wohl unterstüzt vom kernel, wenn ich das richtig gelesen habe, daran sollte es also nicht liegen.

Also ich habe 2 davon. Beide laufen am Raspi 1A. Ab und zu leuchtet die LED auch mal wenn er am Router steckt. Er wird ja durchaus irgendwie erkannt. Allerdings weiß ich nicht welche Kernelmodule ich so wirklich laden soll. Da gibts noch rtl-wifi und rtl-wifi common und die rtl88xx und rtl92xx und davon gibt es welche mit EU und auch wieder common....

Das installationslog bringt folgendes:
Der Router bootet nicht wenn der Stick gesteckt ist. Die LED leuchtet aber dauerhaft am Stick.
Wenn ich ohne Stick boote und den Stick später stecke zeigt mir dmesg folgendes:
Unter Drahtlos steht was mit "nicht assoziiert" am Interface. Sobald ich auf "scan" klicke hängt sich der Router weg
Die /etc/config/wireless sieht so aus

Das ist ein 842er mit originalem 12V Netzteil (der an dem im EBK der Raspi hing). Der sollte den Stick abkönnen. Morgen oder Übermorgen sollte ein Stick mit Atheros in der Post liegen. https://www.cyberport.de/tp-link-n150-t ... _1648.html. Der nimmt den ath9k_htc. Ich glaube in die Realtek Treiber Zeit zu investieren ist eher müßig.

Okay, irgendwie läuft es mit folgendem Ablauf
1) Router booten
2) wenn alles oben ist Stick stecken und 10 Sekunden warten
3) Auf Scan gehen und einem Netzwerk beitreten (LED am Stick wird grün)
4) Es wird eine NEUE Schnittstelle angelegt in der oben das PW eintragen muß. Unten läßt man WWAN
5) Auf Schnittstellen -> WWAN und dort Halle DHCP auswählen
Ich habe mal mein iPhone als Hotspot verwendet. Es flossen ein paar RX/TX Bytes aber die Gateways erschienen nicht. Das kann aber auch am IPhone oder Vodafone liegen
Was nicht geht, ist das booten mit gestecktem Stick. Dann wird das normale WLAN des Routers nicht geladen

Schau dir mal die Country-Codes an, da steht einmal beim Boot "World" das ist normal, das wird immer erst geladen und dann kommt US und CN. Auf beiden sind kein Kanal 13 erlaubt, also bitte mal den Countrycode auf DE setzen (das geht auch im luci) (Wlan interface auswählen, unter "device config" "advanced options")
Ansonsten war alles richtig. (ja vielleicht sind die ports über vodafone gesperrt)
Nachdem der Stick sich verbunden hat, kannst du mir nochmal einen log schicken und schauen, ob die beiden Interfaces auf der Konsole existieren (tap0 und tap1) (im luci werden die immer angezeigt, hier ist der Indikator, ob diese eine IP zugewiesen bekommen haben.)
Ansonsten war alles richtig. (ja vielleicht sind die ports über vodafone gesperrt)

Der Stick scheint kein DE zu können. Im Luci ist er auf DE eingestellt. Wenn ich ihn anstecke sehe ich aber nur das in der Konsole
Wenn ich ihn dann im Luci aktiviere (iPhone Tethering) kommt keine weitere Meldung im Log

Re: WAN über vorhandenes WLAN mit Stick?
Also Scheinbar wird, sobald der Stick beim Booten steckt keine DE Region geladen. Daher streikt das eingebaute WLAN. Im Luci ist überall DE eingestellt. Kann es sein, das der kmod-ath9k-htc einfach kein DE unterstützt und irgend eine Komponente nachlädt, die der eingebaute Atheros ebenfalls benutzt und entsprechend auch für diesen kein DE mehr möglich ist?

Re: WAN über vorhandenes WLAN mit Stick?
Also das der Stick partout kein DE und somit Kanal 13 unterstützt ist ja noch irgendwie verschmerzbar. Allerdings ist es doof, wenn der Router aufgrund Stromausfall nach reboot kein WLAN mehr hat und man den nochmal ohne Stick booten muss. Sowas kann man keinem unbedarften Endnutzer hinstellen.
Was auch auffällt, Luci trägt jedes mal beim Speichern als WPA Schlüssel das root passwort des Routers in die /config/wireless statt dem Passwort was man eingetippt hat. Ich glaube, das ist ein Bug.
